Cultural Affairs Committee

The Cultural Affairs Committee was created to establish a cultural identity in the Town. The Committee plans and coordinates activities that will further the development of a climate of art, music, theatre, and other recreational activities. The Cultural Affairs Committee meets regularly on the First Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Street Conference Room 6805 Main Street.

Beautification Advisory Committee

The Beautification Advisory Committee was created to bring ideas and make recommendations on how to beautify our Town. The Beautification Committee meets regularly on the Third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Street Conference Room 6805 Main Street.

Youth Activities Task Force

The Youth Activities Task Force was created to explore the development of positive activities for the Town’s youth, particularly the people between the ages of fourteen and nineteen years old. The Committee focuses on youth oriented events such as the Annual Haunted House, the Bike rodeo, etc. The Task Force meets the First Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Main Street Conference Room 6805 Main Street.

Economic Development Committee

The Economic Development Committee was created to make recommendations to the Council through the aggressive recruitment of new industries to become part of the Town’s business community. The Council envisions this committee to assist in the development of a well rounded business climate to help build up the Town’s Commercial tax base. In turn, affording Town residents with opportunities to be employed within the Town and alleviating traffic gridlock from commuters.  The Task Force meets the Fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at the Graham Companies Conference Room 6843 Main Street.

Education Advisory Board

The Education Advisory Board was created to assess the condition, needs, and availability of schools located in the Town. The Board makes recommendations to the Town Council concerning educational issues that affect the schools. The Education Advisory Board meets the Second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Main Street Conference Room 6805 Main Street.

Elderly Affairs Committee

The Elderly Affairs Committee was created to assist the Town with identifying the needs of the Elderly residents in Miami Lakes.  The Committee focuses on the development of programs serving the elderly, such as the Senior Health and Wellness Fair.  The Elderly Affairs Committee meets the Second Wednesday of each month at 8:30am at the Main Street Conference Room 6805 Main Street.
