Winners Announced Of The 2017 Miami Lakes Future Leaders Scholarship, Presented By The Graham Companies

Miami Lakes, FL - The Town of Miami Lakes and its Education Advisory Board are excited to announce the winners of the 2017 Miami Lakes Future Leaders Scholarship, presented by the Graham Companies. These leaders of tomorrow were commended for their accomplishments at the May’s Town Council meeting on Tuesday, May 2nd.

Two scholarships, in the amount of $1,000.00 each were awarded to Melany Hernandez and Esteban Guio. Melany Hernandez, with a 5.077 GPA from School of Advanced Studies, will be attending Emory University. Ms. Hernandez hopes to become an Anesthesiologist. Esteban Guio, with a 5.168 GPA from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, will be attending the University of Chicago. Mr. Guio hopes to become an attorney and run for a political office someday.

This year, many Miami Lakes resident high school seniors who demonstrated extraordinary dedication to academic achievement and community service applied. These students will be the leaders of tomorrow and we are pleased that our Town has such bright and engaging young people to lead us into the future. The Town of Miami Lakes and its Education Advisory Board wishes these students continued success throughout their college career and on.
