243px-All-America City LogoAt the July 26th Special Call Meeting, the Town Council unanimously confirmed the appointment of Mrs. Marilyn Ruano to occupy Seat 3, recently vacated by Vice Mayor Tony Lama. Per our Town’s Charter, Mrs. Ruano will serve until August 28, 2018, the date of the County’s next scheduled election.The Councilmen expressed their support for Mrs. Ruano’s appointment, referring to her commitment to this community since 1997 holding various positions including Royal Palm Estates HOA President, Treasurer of the Bob Graham Education Center PTSA, Educational Excellence School Advisory Council parent representative, and Vice Chair of the Town’s Education Advisory Board- to name a few.

Miami Lakes, FL -At the July 26th Special Call Meeting, the Town Council unanimously confirmed the appointment of Mrs. Marilyn Ruano to occupy Seat 3, recently vacated by Vice Mayor Tony Lama. Per our Town’s Charter, Mrs. Ruano will serve until August 28, 2018, the date of the County’s next scheduled election.

The Councilmen expressed their support for Mrs. Ruano’s appointment, referring to her commitment to this community since 1997 holding various positions including Royal Palm Estates HOA President, Treasurer of the Bob Graham Education Center PTSA, Educational Excellence School Advisory Council parent representative, and Vice Chair of the Town’s Education Advisory Board- to name a few.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity that the mayor and council have given me to serve the Town of Miami Lakes. I look forward to working them to maintain the quality of life that makes this town so special, “said Councilwoman Ruano.

In addition, in accordance with the Town Charter, the Council also elected Nelson Rodriguez to the Vice Mayor position. Alongside outgoing Vice Mayor Tony Lama, Councilman Rodriguez has spearheaded the Town’s transportation initiatives. Also an advocate for education and children, Councilman Rodriguez previously served as Chair of the Town’ Education Advisory Board and President of the Miami Lakes K-8 Center PTSA.

“It was a privilege to be unanimously nominated by my colleagues to the position of Vice Mayor,” said Vice Mayor Rodriguez. “I plan to continue the strategic traffic and transportation plans that Vice Mayor Lama and I initiated”.
