Miami Lakes, FL -At the October 3rd Council Meeting, Miami Dade County Public School Board Member Perla Tabares Hantman, joined by North Region Superintendent Jose Bueno and Principal Joaquin Hernandez of Barbara Goleman High School, proudly announced that Barbara Goleman Senior High will be converted to a Mega-Magnet School beginning in the 2018-2019 school year.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools was one of four Florida school districts to win a $15 million grant from The U.S. Education Department’s Magnet Schools Assistance Program. As a result, Barbara Goleman will be restructured into a district-wide magnet school with new magnet programs, including information systems technology, digital marketing, financial technology, cybersecurity, and an advanced placement STEM course.
