243px-All-America City LogoThe Town of Miami Lakes and its Public Safety Committee (PSC) will be hosting an Identity Theft Prevention & Suspicious Behavior Reporting Forum.At 10 AM, a panel of experts from Miami-Dade County Economic Crimes Bureau will discuss what financial information should be protected, how to protect yourself from identity theft and fraud, and what to do if you become a victim.At 11 AM, the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homeland Security Bureau will discuss their “See Something, Say Something” Initiative and the presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.

Identity Theft & Suspicious Behavior Reporting Forum

 
Miami Lakes, FL – The Town of Miami Lakes and its Public Safety Committee (PSC) will be hosting an Identity Theft Prevention & Suspicious Behavior Reporting Forum.

At 10 AM, a panel of experts from Miami-Dade County Economic Crimes Bureau will discuss what financial information should be protected, how to protect yourself from identity theft and fraud, and what to do if you become a victim.

At 11 AM, the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homeland Security Bureau will discuss their “See Something, Say Something” Initiative and the presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.

In addition, there will be paper shredding and electronic disposal stations. Attendees will have the opportunity to bring their confidential documents, such as cancelled checks, old financial statements, credit card offers, and other documents contain personal information, for on-site shredding, provided by International Data Depository. As well as bring their obsolete electronic, computer, and cellular equipment to be recycle, provided by Allied Electronics Trading. The stations will be located at Mary Collins Community Center parking lot.
