We are following guidance from Miami Dade County, the Florida Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other state officials to safeguard the health and well being of our residents and staff.

Town Manager Issues New Executive Orders in Response to COVID-19

As a result of the escalating Covid-19 (Corona) Virus concerns, Town Manager Edward Pidermann issued four Executive Orders effective immediately on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

The health and safety of our community is our top priority and it is proven that social distancing is one of the best tools to slow the spread of the coronavirus.  The Safer at Home Mandate orders all Town of Miami Lakes residents to isolate themselves in their homes. This order is subject to certain exceptions.

All town employees shall not return to Town Hall until at least April 13, 2020, in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Town staff will work remotely and will continue to be accessible by email for the duration of this temporary shutdown. Staff will remain ready to serve and assist constituents in a virtual capacity. Public Meetings such as meetings of the Town Council and Planning & Zoning Board will be held remotely. Agendas and instructions for public participation will be shared in the near future.

Rest assured that all critical Town and County services, including specifically Police and Fire will remain ongoing and intact, although with some additional safety protocols to protect first responder and citizen safety at all times.  Please continue to use non-emergency number (305) 4-POLICE (305-476-5423) for any situations that do not require emergency attention.
