Miami Lakes Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Miami Lakes, FL - Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Town of Miami Lakes for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2019. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.  This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represent a significant accomplishment by a government and its management, according to the Government Finance Officers Association news release.

The Town has received this award since 2010. The comprehensive annual financial report has been judged to meet the highest standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the comprehensive annual financial report. The Town Council and Administration take pride in our continued efforts to increase transparency.
