Town's Transportation Manager Named 2020 Bicycle Professional of the Year
Miami Lakes, FL- The Florida Bicycle Association has recognized Michael Zayas-Morales, The Town of Miami Lakes Transportation Planning Manager, as the 2020 Bicycle Professional of the Year. “I am grateful, humbled, and honored to receive this award. This is truly a team-work effort from our Town of Miami Lakes Staff. I am committed to encouraging the use of other modes of transportation within our beautiful municipality by advocating and planning for safer infrastructure and accessibility. The Florida Bicycle Association awards are presented to worthy recipients for their contributions to bicycling. The purpose of the awards is to bring attention to the efforts and achievements of groups, organizations, and individuals that help shape their vision for all Florida bicyclists to be safe, respected, and encouraged to bicycle for transportation and recreation. The Florida Bicycle Association was incorporated in 1997. Their mission is to encourage more people to bicycle through education and advocacy. Now, their vision is for bicycling to be safe, accepted, and encouraged in Florida. They strive to protect and advance the interests of bicyclists; educate the public about sharing roadways and paths with people on bicycles; and encourage the creation of great places to ride.
