During the training, attendees practiced skills in first aid, light search and rescue, emergency decision making procedures, fire suppression, triage, community preparedness, hazard mitigation, damage assessments, and more.
“It was an excellent learning opportunity to be part of this CERT class and be among a group of individuals that are committed to emergency response and preparedness,” Mayor Slaton said. “Everyone enjoyed all of the valuable skills and training that we received and I encourage our residents to volunteer for these types of training courses when they become available”.
