Attendees brought their blankets and chairs to secure a good view for the fireworks show. Elected officials kicked off the event with a check presentation of $1.3 million in state grants presented to the Town of Miami Lakes for canal bank and drainage improvements.
People danced to the music by DJ John and The Jai Rose Band, and enjoyed the delicious food from various food trucks. The highlight of the event came when Mayor Wayne Slaton and the Town Council counted down to the start of the dazzling fireworks show. After the nearly 30 minute fireworks show the crowd cheered and applauded to show their appreciation for the Town’s spectacular show.
“Thank you to all attended along with their families, friends, neighbors and loved ones,” Mayor Wayne Slaton said. “It was truly a pleasure to share this special day with all of you. Special thanks to the Cultural Affairs Committee and Town staff for organizing such a remarkable event for our community to enjoy.”
