Town and County Unveil New Royal Lakes Boulevard Sign
Miami Lakes- The Town of Miami Lakes and Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners recently co-designated Northwest 87th Avenue, between Northwest 138th Street and Northwest 170th Street, as Royal Lakes Boulevard. Several elected officials from the Town and County attended the Aug. 5 unveiling of the new sign at the intersection of 154th Avenue and 87th Avenue.
The Boulevard’s name was chosen to recognize and unify the neighborhoods of “Royal Gardens,” “Royal Oaks Estates” and “West Lakes Estates” that are located along or near Northwest 87th Avenue.
“As a major traffic corridor, Royal Lakes Boulevard will continue in the unification of the northwest neighborhoods and bring the Town closer together,” said Councilman Nelson Rodriguez, who initiated the efforts of co-designating the roadway.
Northwest 87th Avenue from Northwest 138th Street to Northwest 154th Street is a County Road within the Town of Miami Lakes, while the stretch from Northwest 154th Street to Northwest 170th Avenue is a Town road.
