Miami Lakes, FL - At the October 6th Town Council meeting, Councilmembers and Town Staff wore pink to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In addition, each night throughout October, Town Hall is illuminated in pink lighting and throughout the day our lobby lights glow a beautiful shade of pink.

The major impact of Breast Cancer is evident in its statistics. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. Additionally, Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and the second leading cause of death among women, according to the Foundation.
