Miami Lakes, FL - Town Councilmembers participated in the County’s Ethical Governance Day 2015 on October 22nd at various local schools to emphasize the importance of civic engagement to young residents in the Town.
Mayor Pizzi spoke at Barbara Goleman Senior High; Vice Mayor Cid spoke to the students at Miami Lakes Educational Center; Councilman Lama and Councilman Rodriguez spoke at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High. Councilman Rodriguez, Vice Mayor Cid, and Councilman Lama also accompanied Mr. Joseph Centorino, Executive Director of the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust at Bob Graham Education Center to present Mrs. Ingy Cruz the Ethics Commission Teacher of the Year Award.
The Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics & Public Trust established Ethical Governance Day in the fall of 2012 to inspire local governments, community and civic groups and schools to create and participate in events that highlight the importance of community involvement.
