Miami Lakes, FL -At the July Council Meeting, Mayor Michael Pizzi and the Town Council proclaimed August Lake Quality Awareness Month in the Town of Miami Lakes. For the fourth year in a row, the Town will celebrate August as Lake Quality Awareness Month to raise awareness about the quality of our lakes and to recognize the important role that our lakes play in the Town’s public image and recreational life. Come learn more about the importance of storm water and its effect on lake quality from the Town’s Public Works Director Elia Nunez on Thursday, August 18th at 7pm at Town Hall, 6601 Main Street.
In addition, this year, the Town and its Neighborhood Improvement Committee, in conjunction with the “IHeartMiamiLakes” campaign invite residents to post their favorite photos of one of the Town’s 23 lakes using the official hashtag #iheartmiamilakes. This campaign is intended to encourage residents to take pride in their community. Encouraging pride in our community is essential for achieving the quality of life desired by our residents. Whether it be supporting local businesses, volunteering, or lending a neighbor a helping hand, civic pride results in community improvement.
