Miami Lakes, FL -The Town of Miami Lakes was recently awarded a $100,000 grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Florida Highway Beautification Council (FHBC). The FHBC provides funding to improve urban environments along highways throughout the State of Florida. The Town submitted an application for $100,000 to assist in funding the SR 826/NW 154th Street Landscape Improvements Project.
“This is yet another positive step in ensuring that our Town continues to grow beautifully,” stated Mayor Manny Cid. “Town staff worked very hard to find grant dollars to supplement our budget and improve our resident’s quality of life.”
The Project will complement landscape enhancements that are being made on the northern portion of NW 154th Street, adjacent to NW 77th Court, on the west side of the Palmetto Expressway as part of a prior Florida Highway Beautification Grant. These grant fund will advance the Town’s efforts to fully implement the Beautification Master Plan.
