Miami Lakes, FL - The Town and its Elderly Affairs Committee are offering FREE field trips for Miami Lakes residents 55 years and above. The next field trip is scheduled for Wednesday, January 18th to Fruit and Spice Park.
Established in 1944, Fruit & Spice Park is the only tropical botanical garden of its kind in the United States. This lush 37-acre park is owned and operated by the Miami-Dade County Park and Recreation Department. The Park's tropical climate can be found nowhere else in the continental United States and hosts over 500 varieties of fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, and nuts, and other commercially important plant specimens from around the world. Visitors are invited to the tasting counter inside the Park Store or enjoy lunch at the Mango Cafe.
Transportation is provided to and from Town Hall. The bus will depart from Town Hall at 10:30 AM. Space is limited and reservations are required. Reservations are open and remain open until all seats are filled. To register, please contact Clarisell De Cardenas, Special Events & Committees Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (305) 364-6100.
