Relay For Life Event Helps Create A World With More Birthdays
Miami Lakes, FL - The Miami Lakes Relay For Life event, held on Friday, April 26th, raised more than $5,000 to support the Society's mission of saving lives from cancer. More that 200 people, represented by 15 teams, participated in this year's Relay event. The teams were comprised of area families, faith-based groups, businesses, clubs and other organizations.
"We are honored to be joined by cancer survivors who walked the opening lap, officially kicking off this year's event," said Mayor Michael Pizzi. "These survivors are the reason we continue the fight."
Mayor Pizzi presented a check in the amount of $2,500 from the Town's Foundation to the Relay For Life.
