Ethics “Open House”

The Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics & Public Trust is reaching out to residents, public employees, elected officials and politically active citizens in across Miami-Dade County with an “open house.”

The free event, postponed from September due to Hurricane Irma, will take place 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13th, 2017, in the Town Council Chambers at Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main Street, Miami Lakes, 33014.  Ethics Commission staff will explain the agency’s work and mission, give an overview of key provisions of the Ethics Code, briefly review Sunshine and Public Records Laws, make a presentation on the Citizens’ Bill of Rights and answer audience questions.

For more information, call 305-579-2594 or visit

The Ethics Commission was created in 1996 as an independent agency with advisory and quasi-judicial powers.  It is composed of five members, serving staggered terms of four years each.  Through a program of education and outreach, the Commission seeks to empower the community and bolster public trust.
