Join us in honoring our nation’s heroes by volunteering for the Veterans Parade!

IMPORTANT: Volunteers must make themselves available for multiple required dates. We cannot accept volunteers who are only available on the day of the event.

Mandatory Dates for Volunteers

To ensure the event runs smoothly, all volunteers are required to attend the following:

Thursday, October 29th at 6:30 PM (1-hr orientation) – MANDATORY
Thursday, November 5th at 6:30 PM (1-hr final prep meeting) – MANDATORY
Sunday, November 8th from 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Event day) – MANDATORY

*Service hours will be provided for all dates attended.

Event Day Details – Sunday, November 8th

Event is outdoors and will take place rain or shine.
A staff shirt will be provided to wear on event day.
Please eat a healthy breakfast and stay hydrated – it will be warm!
Wear comfortable shoes and light, airy pants or knee-length shorts.
Sun protection is recommended (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses).

Requirements & Sign-Up Information

Open to 11th and 12th grade students only.
Maximum of 15 student volunteers will be accepted.
Deadline to register: Thursday, September 24th.

Please note that all volunteer activities will take place outdoors. Volunteers are encouraged to eat a good breakfast and stay properly hydrated, as temperatures may be hot. Please wear comfortable shoes and lightweight, breathable clothing, such as pants or knee-length shorts. We also recommend applying sunscreen and bringing a hat and/or sunglasses for sun protection.(Required)

Volunteer Participation Requirements: Please note that volunteers are required to participate on all three mandatory dates: Thursday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. for a one-hour meeting; Thursday, November 5 at 6:30 p.m. for a one-hour meeting; and Sunday, November 8 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Volunteer service hours will be provided for all required dates attended. The deadline to sign up to volunteer is Thursday, September 24.(Required)

By submitting this form, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions for my child to volunteer at the Town of Miami Lakes Veterans Parade on Sunday, November 8, 2026. I understand that my child is committing to volunteer for the event taking place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Main Street and is required to arrive no later than 7:00 AM on the day of the event. I confirm that my child is a current high school student in the 11th or 12th grade and meets the eligibility requirements for volunteering at this event. My child understands that as a volunteer, they are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly, follow all instructions from event coordinators, and complete tasks including event setup, cleanup, and assisting to the best of their ability.
