The Veterans Committee also provides the Town Council with recommendations and potential solutions regarding veterans’ issues within the Town of Miami Lakes. The Planning and Zoning Board (“Board”) consists of seven members, appointed by the Mayor and Town Council. The Board is empowered to take final action on zoning variance requests. Also, as the designated Local Planning Agency (LPA), the Board makes recommendations to the Town Council regarding rezonings, amendments to the Land Development Code (LDC), and amendments to the Miami Lakes Comprehensive Plan.
