What is the Resident Vehicle Decal Program?

The Resident Vehicle Decal Program provides identifying decals for resident vehicles in Royal Oaks. The decals allow guardhouses to visually recognize resident vehicles and streamline entry without photographing license plates.

Which communities are included?

The program applies to residents of:

· Royal Oaks Section One

· Royal Oaks East

How many decals does each household receive?

Each household is eligible to receive two (2) vehicle decals.

Is there a cost for the decals?

No. The first two decals per household are provided at no cost.

How do I apply for my decals?

Residents may apply in either of the following ways:

· Online at miamilakes-fl.gov/decals

· In person at the Mary Collins Community Center

Where and when will decals be distributed?

· Location: Mary Collins Community Center (15151 NW 82nd Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33016)

· Eligibility: Decals will be issued after application verification and approval

· Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

· Distribution Period: Beginning February 17 through April 17

Photo ID Requirement

Residents picking up their free decals must bring a valid photo ID for verification at the time of pickup.

Where should the decal be placed on my vehicle?

It is recommended that the decal be placed in the center of the front windshield, just below the rearview mirror.

What happens when my vehicle has a decal?

Vehicles displaying a valid decal:

· Are recognized as resident vehicles

· Are granted entry without license plate photography

What if I have more than two vehicles?

Households with more than two vehicles may request additional decals after the initial distribution period. Additional or replacement decals requested after the initial distribution period are available for $5 per decal, while supplies last.

What if I lose or damage a decal?

Is there a deadline to apply?

Yes. Residents have 60 days from the start of the distribution period to apply for their two free decals.

Can renters apply for decals?

No. Resident vehicle decals are issued to property owners. Renters should request that their landlord provide any required remotes or access credentials for resident lane entry.

Do decals expire?

No expiration date has been set for the current decals.

Will my license plate still be photographed?

No. Vehicles displaying a resident decal will not have their license plates photographed.
