Business Impact Estimates (“BIE”) are provided in accordance with Section 166.014(4), Florida Statutes. This section provides that a BIE be published to the Town’s website to contain certain information, including the purpose of the proposed ordinance, as well as the estimated economic impact on businesses and compliance cost.

The Town of Miami Lakes and its Economic Development Committee is pleased to team up with technology firm LocalIntel to launch an economic development micro-site that will provide Miami Lakes businesses and entrepreneurs online information in a streamlined format.

In the state of Florida, anyone who provides merchandise or services to the public, even if only a one-person company or home-based business, must obtain the business tax receipt in order to operate.
