The Public Safety Committee works with local residents, businesses and the Police Department to organize and develop local crime watch programs and provide opportunities for public safety awareness and education.

May is Law Enforcement Appreciation Month.
During this time, we honor officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, and we show our appreciation for those who continue to put their lives on the line to protect us.
Show your support by participating in Project Blue Light, a project of the organization Concerns of Police Survivors.
Place a blue light in your front yard or a blue candle in a window of your home or business.
Ways to support Law Enforcement:
- Take a picture of your blue light and share it on social media
- Share a positive story on social media
- Tie a blue ribbon around your mailbox
- When you see officers, thank them!
- Join us at the Town of Miami Lakes Council Meeting in May
The Public Safety Committee with the support of the Miami Lakes Town Council sponsors the following programs:
