The Cultural Affairs Committee is excited to host this year’s virtual Book Talk with author Elizabeth Castillo on September 17 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Town Hall (6601 Main Street). Join us for fun conversations based in literature, along with refreshments and more with author Elizabeth Castillo.

Elizabeth Castillo’s journey as a writer began with the search for steadiness as she navigated an unexpected path with her daughter. She pivoted the trajectory of her life to ensure her daughter had everything she needed, but after years of physically and mentally moving nonstop, she longed for a way to reconnect with herself. This led to Dear Healing Heart, where she shares the often-unspoken moments of special-needs parenting and the quiet strength that emerges along the way.

A Miami native, Elizabeth savors the slower moments of life there with her family, continuing her own healing journey. Through these intentional steps, she now prioritizes her well-being alongside her family’s. Understanding how lonely and overwhelming special-needs parenting can be, Elizabeth founded Healing Heart Co., offering supportive products and offerings—reminding parents that their story, healing, and wholeness matter, too.
