Miami Lakes Town Council Adopts FY 2026–27 Budget and Maintains Millage Rate

Miami Lakes, FL – The Miami Lakes Town Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget and millage rate at its second and final budget hearing on September 24. The new fiscal year begins October 1, 2026.

The budget totals $81,758,076 across all funds, including transfers and reserves. The General Fund operating budget is $24,244,785, supporting services such as police, parks and recreation, public works, and Town operations.

The Council maintained the Town’s millage rate at 2.1577 mills, the same rate as the prior year. That equals $2.1577 in Town property tax for every $1,000 of taxable property value. The rate is projected to generate approximately $11.3 million in property tax revenue. Residents can view the estimated annual impact on their property using the Town’s Millage Impact Calculator.

The budget includes $21.5 million for capital projects, with planned investments in transportation and parks. Projects listed in the budget include the NW 59th Avenue Extension, Miami Lakes Park West bicycle and pedestrian improvements, the Senior Center build-out, and improvements at Miami Lakes Optimist Park.

During the budget process, the Council directed savings into a contingency reserve. Of those funds, $251,598 is designated for tree trimming and $85,000 for the senior rebate program.
