FY 2021 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report Now Available

Miami Lakes, FL – The Town of Miami Lakes has completed its annual financial audit successfully for the fiscal year ended September 30th, 2021.

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) includes an introductory, financial, statistical and a compliance section reporting the financial health of the town, in accordance with government auditing standards. As per the Florida Statute Chapter 218, and of the rules of the Auditor General, the Town is required to perform an annual independent audit by a licensed independent auditing CPA firm. This year’s audit was conducted by the public accounting firm Garcia, Espinosa, Miyares, Rodriguez, Trueba & Co., LLC.

For the FY 2020 Report the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States has awarded the Town the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 9th consecutive year. This is a designation awarded for state and local governments going above and beyond to create comprehensive financial reports that display transparency and full disclosure. The Town has submitted this 2021 CAFR for consideration.
