Miami Lakes Receives Growth Award Recognition for 2023

Miami Lakes Receives Growth Award Recognition for 2023

March 28, 2024

Veteran Park Walkway and Fields

Miami Lakes, FL – The Town is proud to announce that it has been recognized again with the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA Growth Award for the 14th year.

As a Sterling City, a designation for having received the Growth Award for 10 or more years, Miami Lakes has displayed a continued dedication to arbor maintenance and community engagement. In January, the Town announced its 17th year of recognition as a Tree City USA from the Arbor Day Foundation.

The Growth Award, in which applications are open only to Tree City USA communities, is an achievement in arbor care & culture earned by less than 15% of Tree Cities through certain eligibility criteria. The Town’s application, submitted in October 2023, outlines Miami Lakes’ personal commitment to tree care by way of:

  • Green Jobs
  • Annual Work Plan
  • Tree Protection
  • Enforcement Proceedings

The Parks & Recreation Department makes every effort to provide superior parks, facilities, and greenspaces for users of all ages and abilities in a safe, cost-effective manner that exceeds community expectations while striving to increase the social, cultural, and physical well-being of our diverse community and its visitors.
