Town Manager Edward Pidermann Earns ICMA Credentialed Manager Designation
February 6, 2026
Miami Lakes, FL – Edward Pidermann, Town Manager of the Town of Miami Lakes, Florida, recently earned the prestigious ICMA Credentialed Manager (ICMA-CM) designation from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). Pidermann is one of approximately 1,300 local government management professionals worldwide currently credentialed through the ICMA Program, a distinction that reflects the highest standards of integrity, leadership, and professional development in local government management.
Pidermann has been working toward this achievement since the start of his employment with the Town of Miami Lakes, in accordance with his employment agreement and professional development goals. Notably, February 2, 2026, marked Pidermann’s seventh anniversary with the Town of Miami Lakes, making this professional milestone especially meaningful as it coincides with seven years of dedicated service to the community.
“Earning the ICMA-CM designation has been an important professional goal for me, and I am grateful for the support of the Mayor, Town Council, staff, and the Miami Lakes community,” Pidermann said. “This credential reflects my commitment to ethical leadership, continuous learning, and serving our residents with professionalism and integrity. It has been an honor to serve my hometown for the past seven years, and I look forward to continuing that work together”.
ICMA’s mission is to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics and by increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world. The organization’s 13,000 members in 27 countries also include educators, students, and other local government employees.
To receive the ICMA Credentialed Manager designation, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; hold a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrate a commitment to high standards of integrity, lifelong learning, and professional development.
“Ed’s achievement of the ICMA-CM credential is a testament to his professionalism, leadership, and commitment to excellence in public service,” said Mayor Joshua Dieguez. “This distinction reflects his dedication to continuous improvement and the high standard of management that Miami Lakes residents expect and deserve. We are grateful for his seven years of service and proud to see him recognized among the top local government professionals worldwide”.
Prior to his appointment in 2019 as Town Manager of Miami Lakes, Pidermann served for 33 years in the fire service, advancing from Probationary Firefighter to Deputy Fire Chief for the City of Miami. He recently completed his 40th year of service in local government in South Florida.
Pidermann has also made significant contributions to several professional organizations, including: the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 587, Fire Officers Association of Miami-Dade (FOAM-D), Florida Fire Chief’s Association, Miami-Dade City/County Manager’s Association, and the Florida City/County Manager’s Association. He has also earned the Chief Fire Officer credential from the Center for Public Safety Excellence.
Pidermann was inducted into the Miami Dade College (MDC) Hall of Fame in 2016.
