Town of Miami Lakes Earns Prestigious Davey Award

Best in Show Winners Unveiled, Gold and Silver Award Recipients Also Named

Miami Lakes, FL (October 26, 2021) – The Town of Miami Lakes is pleased to announce its Communications & Community Affairs Department has earned a Gold Davey Award, the highest possible honor, from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). With over 2,000 entries from across the U.S. and from around the world, the Davey Awards honors the finest creative work from the best small shops, firms, and companies worldwide.

This international recognition is a major accomplishment for the Town. The award is in the Content & Marketing – Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category for the Black History Month video in collaboration with Miami Lakes resident, Chris Norwood of Hampton Art Lovers. The video produced by Gani Films highlights the Town’s Cultural Affairs Committee Black History Month Art Tour and combines vibrant images and incredible video footage of the displayed art and a moving narrative by Norwood.

Debuted on February 10, 2021, the Black History Month Art Tour video may be viewed on the Town’s YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIUz8qVqlZU&t=20s).
