Women of Distinction Awards Winners Celebrated

Miami Lakes, FL – The Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee (“CAC”) voted to award the 2024 Women of Distinction Awards to six local community members for their service and contributions to the Miami Lakes community. The award winners and their categories are as follows:

• Arts: Patty Fernandez
• Government: Detective Miriam Yanes
• Education: Michelle Wright
• Volunteer: Helen S. Roldan
• Health Services: Janet Waterfield
• Business: Judy L. Farcus Serra

The award-winning women were recognized at a closed ceremony on Saturday, March 16—in time for March’s Women’s History Month—at Town Hall, where family members & friends of the winners, members of the CAC, staff, and elected officials will recognize the winners.
