The Clerk of the Court & Comptroller (COCC), Juan Fernandez-Barquin, is committed to educating the residents he serves on how to appeal the Truth in Millage (TRIM) Statement, which will be mailed to all residential and commercial property owners on August 22, 2025, by the Property Appraiser. The COCC will be offering residents of the Town of Miami Lakes on Monday, August 25th, 2025, the following information:

- Challenge your property assessment or exemption denials
- Understand when to file, what can be appealed, and how to file a petition with the Value Adjustment Board (VAB)
Residents will receive a step-by-step guidance from specialists and local leaders who can help them navigate the appeals process with confidence.
