Overview
Any owner who rents a residential dwelling (single‑family, townhouse, or multi‑family unit) to guests more than three (3) times in a calendar year for periods of less than 30 days or one calendar month, or advertises the dwelling as a short‑term/vacation rental, must register with the Town and obtain both a Certificate of Use (CU) and a Business Tax Receipt (BTR) before advertising or renting.
How to Apply
- Prepare documents (see checklist) and complete required State/County items: Florida Department of Revenue registration, Miami‑Dade Tourist Taxes registration, Florida DBPR license, Miami‑Dade Fire Rescue inspection.
- Apply online via the STR Customer Portal.
- Town review and inspection.
- Approval and posting of Certificate of Compliance.
