The Planning and Zoning Board (“Board”) consists of seven members, appointed by the Mayor and Town Council. The Board is empowered to take final action on zoning variance requests. Also, as the designated Local Planning Agency (LPA), the Board makes recommendations to the Town Council regarding rezonings, amendments to the Land Development Code (LDC), and amendments to the Miami Lakes Comprehensive Plan. The Miami Lakes 25th Anniversary Ad Hoc Committee was established to plan and coordinate an event celebrating the town’s milestone year. The committee will focus on organizing a community-driven event that reflects the town’s history, culture, and growth over the past 25 years.
