Miami Lakes, FL - The Town of Miami Lakes has revamped our current website www.miamilakes-fl.gov to make it easier to find information about Town services and initiatives. The content of the newly designed website is based on the needs of residents, organized by topic, and provides multiple ways for people to find information in a convenient manner.
The redesign of the website was completed as part of the Town’s Strategic Plan goal to achieve better communication, transparency, and public participation on all issues. Based on information from google analytics, webpages and information that were most frequently visited were moved to the homepage to make it easier to find information about Town services and initiatives residents were most interested in.
The homepage now provides quick access to the most popular services, such business and online resources, as well as quick links to hot topics like council meetings and transportation initiatives.
Council meetings, agendas and action items are now prominently displayed and links to this information have been placed directly on the homepage. In addition, notices for Council meetings and workshops will be shared on the Town’s social media pages and pop up reminders on the website.
In addition, for residents most interested in the “fun stuff”, the Town also created the microsite www.iheartmiamilakes.com which provides information about where to go, what to see, and fun things to do in Miami Lakes. The Town’s existing webpages that currently include information about upcoming events and programs will be redirected to the new microsite.
The “I Heart Miami Lakes” campaign was an initiative brought forth by Vice Mayor Tony Lama, as a campaign intended to encourage residents to take pride in their community. Whether it be supporting local businesses, volunteering, or lending a neighbor a helping hand, civic pride results in community improvement. Encouraging pride in our community is essential for achieving the quality of life desired by our residents.
Through the campaign it was clear residents agreed that getting involved and participating in event fostered community engagement and support. The new “I Heart Miami Lakes” microsite is dedicated to sharing the unique experience and quality of life the Town offers. Be sure to visit the site and sign up to receive our newsletter!
As the Town strives to continue enhancing communications, transparency and community engagement with the newly redesigned website and newsletter, we look forward to your thoughts on the site and how we can make it even better.
