Miami Lakes, FL - The Town of Miami Lakes and its Elderly Affairs Committee (EAC) are excited to announce, “Jerry’s Squad,” a Hurricane Preparedness Assistance Program for seniors or disabled persons who require assistance to prepare their homes for an upcoming weather event. An initiative of Vice Mayor Lama, “Jerry’s Squad” was created in memory of longtime resident, U.S Korean War veteran, and former Elderly Affairs Committee member, Jerry Schneider.
Seniors (65 or older), or disabled persons must fill out an application listing names, address, contact information and indicate the type of assistance needed. Applications will be reviewed by the EAC to determine if the applicant meets eligibility requirements. Click here to download an applicant's application.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, and must also apply and submit a background check form. Click here to download a volunteer application.
