Special Needs Registry Program Launches in Miami Lakes

Miami Lakes, FL – To better serve those with special needs in the community, the Town of Miami Lakes has launched the Special Needs Registry. The program is voluntary and open to all Miami Lakes residents with special needs due to mental or neurological disabilities.

The Special Needs Registry is a collaboration between the Town of Miami Lakes its Special Needs Advisory Board and Miami Dade County Police Department Miami Lakes Division.

The information provided on the registry will be utilized by law enforcement during times of emergency or during an interaction with law enforcement. The goal of the Special Needs Registry to ensure all Miami Lakes residents who have Special Needs can get the help and support they need.

Residents registered with the program will be issued window decals to be placed prominently on the front entrance of their residence. The presence of the decal should signify that someone in the residence has some degree of special need and law enforcement should respond accordingly.

To register for the Special Needs Registry, complete the application form and place it in a sealed envelope. Forms can be dropped off or mailed to Town Hall Miami Lakes Police Division Office, Attention Officer Robin Amador (6601 Main Street, Miami Lakes, FL 33014), or emailed to ramador@mdpd.com.
