Deputy Town Manager Tony Lopez Credentialed by
International Local Government Management

MIAMI LAKES, FL, December 16, 2020 – Tony Lopez, Deputy Town Manager, Town of Miami Lakes, recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. Mr. Lopez is one of over 1,300 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.
ICMA’s mission is to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics and by increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world. The organization’s 13,000 members in 27 countries also include educators, students, and other local government employees.
To receive the prestigious ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.

The experience and accomplishments that he has earned in his short years are nothing short of incredible”, stated Ed Pidermann, Town Manager of Miami Lakes in an email to staff and elected officials.
Lopez is qualified by his thirteen years of professional local government executive experience. Prior to his appointment in 2018 as Deputy Town Manager of Town of Miami Lakes, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Community & Leisure Services. He has worked for the Town for over 15 years and his leadership has been instrumental in the development of creative solutions and public improvements for the Miami Lakes community.
In addition to the credential, highlights of Lopez’s ICMA membership include the completion of the Emerging Leaders Development Program.
Lopez has also made significant contributions to several other organizations, including being selected to the Miami Foundation’s Miami Fellows program and was chosen for the 2020-2021 Leadership Florida Connect program.
