CERT training is designed to provide basic training in disaster preparedness. The CERT basic training course includes: search and rescue techniques, understand role of CERTs and their role in an immediate disaster response, basic fire suppression strategies and fire safety measures, and management of resources in medical response operations.
"The training is a great way to prepare our residents in case we suffer a serious storm or disaster," said Councilman Nelson Rodriguez. "As a Firefighter I have responded to multiple storms throughout our State. CERT Teams can play a key role in helping First Responders".

The CERT Basic Training will take place at Town Hall located at 6601 Main Street. The course is sponsored by Miami-Dade County Emergency Management, the Town of Miami Lakes and its Public Safety Committee.
