Most recently, Congressmen Jason Chaffetz and Elijah Cummings sponsored the Postal Service Act of 2016; HR 5714 is a bipartisan bill that includes a section specifically stating that the Town of Miami Lakes should receive an independent ZIP Code no later than September 2017

FAFSA 101 Workshop at Town's Youth Center

Miami Lakes, FL - Do you want to go to college, but don’t think you can afford it? Did you know significant changes were recently made to the F.A.F.S.A. process? Did you know you can now apply beginning October 1st?

The Town of Miami Lakes is excited to announce our first ever F.A.F.S.A. 101 Workshop to be held Saturday, September 17th beginning at 10am at the Town’s Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive East. F.A.F.S.A. stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Federal Student Aid, a part of the U.S. Department of Education, is the largest provider of student financial aid in the nation; helping make college education possible for everyone.

Parents and students, come hear from Gloria Guzman, Senior Economic and Financial Education Specialist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta – Miami Branch provide information on investing in what’s next after high school. The workshop will explain and provide direction on completing the F.A.S.F.A., comparing school costs, and obtaining financial aid. Attendees will receive a workbook to assist with career exploration,
